    WTB: 74 midnight/blue-black seat(s) in any condition

Looking for a 1974 seat in the dark blue color that was available for that model year (called midnight or blue-black)- trying to get original material to compare for seats that need to be reupholstered. If the seats have the twill/wool inserts and bolsters, even better. If seats are in good shape, I would be interested in buying the pair. Could also use same color door panels and rear seats in the same color if you have them available.

    Thanks!

I have two cars with that color, a 74 Carrera and a 76 Turbo Carrera. the 74 Carrera window sticker calls the color Blue Black, this car has vinyl interior, the seat front s might be leather. the turbo also is blue black but leather. Have you called Autobahn or Autos and requested samples? I would be glad to compare them to my cars and send pictures. Both cars are low miles originals so not selling seats.

I'm also trying to find out about dark blue interior's. I just got a 'barn find' original German car that was brought over in 1986. The dash is almost a blue black, and all the Vinyl seems to be darker than the blue interiors i am seeing on US cars of the same era. I would really like to find some sports seats in the matching color. Is this blue the same as the Midnight Blue Black you were asking about ?

    74 vinyl

The leatherette for the 74My is called blue-black in the official literature, and is one-year only.
I've seen a good reproduction by http://www.southboundtrimmers.com/ in the UK.

The other combinations, including a "twill" wool for side parts of the seat and "shetland" wool or tweed for the centre are very rare. The tweed has been reproduced, both by southbound in UK and Cartex in Germany.

Here a couple of seats I saw in a 74 carrera Yesterday, twill+tweed:

Huge, your car seems a later one, not a 74My. That is another material.

I think the interior you want is called midnight. I've got a 74 Carrera in that the factory build sheet lists as having midnight interior. It is a combination of black parts and extremely dark blue parts. The problem I am finding, is the correct midnight blue material is no loinger available. This is a pic of the 74 midnight seat in a 74 Carrera. the second is one of the midnight pieces I have, next to black to show how dark the blue is. I actually thought the car had a black interior until I cleaned it and put it next to the black seat in the sun
