Did all 69 / 70 cars have provison in the fender joining panel on the rhs for oil lines wether t/e or s ?
If the shells were made first and desinated T/E or s later then the holes would be there on all ?

Hi John,
I have a very original 70T shell. It has the same shape to the joining panel where the holes would be, but the holes would need to be drilled in the set I have. This is something I need to do as the S joiner with the oil lines holes is NLA.

My 69T has the stamped bosses for the oil lines. But as Stretch says, they must have been drilled after the fact for those cars getting a front oil cooler.

Porsche Is repressing the right side joiner plate with the oil line impressions. Very nice peace. Dose not have the universal nut clip but rather weld nuts. Price was a bit high at $243.00 vs what about 80.00 for the universal. Well worth the investment.

Hi Bill,
Do you know the part number? I'm just about to start fitting an oil cooler to my 70T and will need a solution for this too.
Many thanks
Paul
ok so if the panel was punched , and looks factory , then it would be s or an option on a T .
trying to sort this shell out as big issue is ...vins are gone

Are you saying you don't know if the shell is, S, T, etc John. ? There are several other clues like the extra 2 oil line holes in the rear inner fender.

John, don't forget that the production number stamped on the underside of the dash by the ash tray opening. I think you can get a COA or Kardex info from that number as well. The holes punched in yours look a bit oversized.
Paul the part number for the new joiner plate is 901-501-054-01 Porsche suggested retail is $307.00 with my discount price was 261.00 so shop around. I do not have a picture of it, Its at my shop where Iam doing the body work on the72. Stoddards web site has a picture in their body section. Almost double the price of the multi app one but well worth it. It looks like the original. And not any of the clip nut crap. Wish they would hurry and get a left side one redone before I get to that side.
John looking back at your first post. 69-72 all had the joiner plate with the pressing for the oil lines. My early 73 T has this style as well. In another post Ed Mayo stated that he beleaved that the factory stopped using this style for 73. May be my 73 is one of the instances where the factory was using over stocked parts?

I guess the number stamped on the dash (as shown) is either a t if we take the last 4 digits or unknown if we take the last 3 digits . i have read a few threads on the dash number and a mix of people saying the last 4 numbers are vin with others advising the last 3 ?
No chance of getting a coa or kardex here as porsche nz can't be bothered
