Today I killed 3 birds with 1 stone.
3 birds:
(1) wanted to determine build date of my car
(2) needed to track down source of battery discharging prematurely
(3) needed to fix broken clock
1 stone:
Removed clock from dash. Disassembled and found points were not stuck and internal "fuse" was intact. So I merely cleaned the clock with compressed air, gave it a shot of WD40 and put it back together and bench tested it by hooking up to battery. Now it works like a clock (pun intended). Clock had stopped with points in closed position meaning this is the likely cause of my battery drain. Clock revealed a date code of 10/69 meaning my car was probably built in either 10/69 or 11/69
Cost of killing 3 birds with 1 stone: $0.00 (excluding the WD40)
Pulled the Monza muffler off the '69T I'm restoring, added back the missing muffler bracket, and cleaned all of the nuts and bolts in preparation for installing a new muffler tomorrow and then reinstalling the rear panel.
It's posts like that last two that remind me why I love the old cars. Sometimes they can be frustrating, but unlike new cars, they are usually easy to work on, and you can actually fix stuff.![]()

I went to my mechanic to see and hear (gasp!) Trudi's new engine. This RSR is fully race version with RSR cameshaft, RSR slide injection, RSR oil filter, fuel pump, RSR oil tank with pressure valve, etc, etc. Look forward to drive her again, after 4 months of break... But she has to go on the dyno first to check and fix the ignition and injection.
Will let you know the results. Expecting 370 HP...

what are the other specifications on the engine?
