The last post on the Bring-a-Trailer thread on this car is made by the buyer. Sounds like it won't be flipped and is going to an enthusiast's home in HotLanta.

If it weren't for a deceased husband and a grieving widow I believe this would have been fair game.
Some areas are simply hallowed ground which require much different rules than we're used to seeing here.
Jill, who I wish nothing but the best, is probably very glad that she will no longer have to deal with Porsche guys.
My pricks are on the outside.

I agree with Frank. I hope Jill never reads this thread. Jeez if this had to be jousted over couldn't it have been done on another thread. This is a grieving widow for heaven's sake. It's like stompen on a guys grave with their wife watching. Read this thread like it was you and your wife was selling your car and she had to read this. This is pathetic. It's a awesome car, someone got a good deal, and Jill got a quick and fair price. Isn't that a good thing?
Chris
I hope we never put our cars ahead of people. Or we will look like a bunch of pricks.
Jill if you read this thread and I said something to offend you I sincerely apologize.

A few Porsche 'Flippers' waiting
First let me say, my condolences on your loss Mrs. Harris.
Seriously! Anyone who thinks there is much of a difference between a 912 and a 911 clearly has never had thier hands cutting and welding on either. They are vertually the same other than the obvious. Those that think this are surely more interested in numbers and $ value vs. just ripping gears. Mr. Harris clearly was one of the latter. This build reminds me of one in the past, the name escapes me, that was also beautifully built. Burgundy in color, sold for $48K IIR. Which was "big bucks" at the time. I think Mr Harris was a visionary bc w values going up so much on the 911's, 912's will end up being the basis for many more quality hot rod builds with an emphasis on fun vs money.

Mrs. Harris, if you are reading this sincere condolences on your loss. A car, even one as remarkable as this one, is trivial compared to the loss of a loved one.
This car is part of your husband's legacy though. And you have a right to be proud of him. This is the kind of car and the kind of owner that is held in the highest regard by many of the hard-core enthusiasts here at the Registry, myself included. It was obviously built with great care, thought and time by an enthusiast owner with a focus on what these cars were made for - driving - not as a valuable chip in a big poker game.
The transition to collectible status in a very short time unsettles many here, myself included. We remember a time, not so long ago, when we shade tree mechanics and DIYers, aspiring to reach the level of your husband, spent many hours getting our hands dirty working on our cars. This rapid increase in value has changed the hobby and has created a lot of emotion which can come across here in various ways. Just know that the kind of car your husband built is admired by many here, as is the kind of owner your husband was.
Merry Christmas,
John
