Bastard people
So many 356&911 get stolen in the triangle of Cologne/NurburgRing-Belgium/Spa-Netherlands.
When I was there 2 years ago, a 356 was stolen at night in front of my hotel, it was gone within 5min.
(the 356 was parked tightly within modern cars but they used a crane to load it on the flatbed truck...)
There is a story of a stolen 911T in Germany which the owner found for sale by a dealer in Germany some years later…
The german dealer however bought it before legally in Belgium...Belgium law says that after 3 years, stolen goods loose their limitations of claims. You technicially then can change chassis number of any car and sell it again or just sell parts of it.
This story is now part of a legal dispute between its owner which car got stolen and a dealer who still owns it legally.
Since the 911T was stolen in Germany however, so German law might be valid but otherwise the car belongs now rightfully to its new owner/dealer, according to Belgium law.
The owner can currently not get hold of his stolen car but its seized by legal authority in Hamburg. True story.
