Hello,
First off all its Always nice to have a low production number car
you're chassis number is in my opinion a 1970 not 71
but it's not a collector's item like a 1966 ( 65) targa
so in terms of value maybe 2-5 % more then a higher number ?
It's MY 1971 with production date 1970, to be precise

Ser # 0001 has to be worth a bit more, but the car needs to be all numbers matching to get the extra $$$.
I think value depends on the specific car. The first cars were usually given to friends of Porsche. So it might have been owned by a dealer, Porsche employee or racing driver but its not a given. The only way to get this info is to get the Kardex for the car.
So in my opinion I will pay a premium for a car with 0001 number even if it has no history. How Much? I don't know. 20%?

I understood that the first production VIN was 0011, so I find 0001 to be very strange. I would like to see photo documentation of the numbers on this car, particularly the production # on the dash frame under the knee pad.
