fun to see my car on the chart (#717). I have a 5 piece wood dash face and 4/5 screw dash. One other interesting fact under the original paint and on top of the original gray primer is the color orange. I've seen it here on early S that others have noted this too on signal red cars, can anyone else verify this?
I took a good look at Car 2060, a very original car and it still had 4 screw horn grills, early aluminum steering wheel, non adjustable front struts, wash bag in inner fender I can include pics is you want to document the data.
looks like no one had rubber mats, wasnt that more or a 912 thing, I thought early 911 always had carpeted mats, maybe take this off the chart?
I'll mention it again, my carpet and I'm sure it is original as my car sat like a time capsule since 1980 or before and my car has cloth trimmed rather than vinyl trimmed carpet. When did this change happen?
I'm looking for engine 900880 or something close, anyone have one?

I was at the Essen Classica today, the main annual European car classics fair. Some nice stuff for sure, even nicer prices. 300771 was offered for 390 k€ (!!!), and not all original I am afraid. It had the carpet hooks in the luggage compartment alright, but hidden under the carpet, webasto not complete or working (no fuellines), wrong fanhouse, 5-lines pepita, large plastic bezel for ignition switch, rubber gearshift mobs, t-shaped engine lid release knob are the results of a few minutes check.
Anyway, more importantly there was a barnfind 1966 with original carpets, indeed showing the cloth trim. Seems to confirm your point, and if so, probably all 1965 cars had that.
