I could not agree more !!

I have seen that car when it was George P.'s (CA). This was such a well preserved car. Until this day I regret I could not pay for it.

BTW is like the restoration of Steve McQ. 70s.

That is one, but what is also good for the factory is the knowledge they obtain to restore #57 proper. Cars like this are a wealth of detail information

Porsche A.G. probably has all the information stored somewhere in Zuffenhausen
pertaining to that car since they built it originally.
I agree...leave it alone, it's only original once.

    Awesome resource.
Anyone care to weigh in on the riveted horn grill nut plates? I've never seen those before.

Am I stupid this morning or do they not have the VIN posted?

They own it and can do what they want with it, obviously they see the value of bringing it back to as "new" condition.

I for one applaud the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail going into this project.

How do you know that they own it? This is not car #57 (which is a 901). This is a '64.

Frank you are a smart guy, they have not posted the VIN but there are enough clues for you to figure out which VIN it has.

    lol

Not sure about smart but I can definitely vouch for the fact that I was being lazy.

Cursory re-examination revealed it. Thanks for spurring me on.

    So...
    What about those nut plates?
