As this is car week in Monterey I thought it would be fitting to post this kartex.

This early S was born 49 years ago this month in August 1966.

From Stuttgart, the car went to Don Wester's old dealership right there at Wester Motors, Inc., 1187 Del Monte Ave., Monterey, Calif.

Don was a well known driver and raced in many of the top events at Laguna Seca (as well as other tracks) during the golden years of sports car racing, driving the best Porsche had to offer: Carrera Speedster, RSK, 904 and 906.

The car's second owner was Bob Little in Carmel, Calif. Bob was a local businessman and a past President of the PCA chapter there.

So I guess this old S would be right at home for Cars on the Avenue in Carmel this week, or sitting in the paddock at Laguna Seca in the early morning fog or maybe just roaming the Del Monte Drive on the way from Pacific Grove to the Lodge at Pebble Beach.
