Thread: original early Durant mirror

    original early Durant mirror

Needs new glass but the stainless is in excellent shape. I tried to move the mirror around and it's very tight. The "Caution" on the stainless is just a reflection from something in the background. Asking $110.00 shipped.

More pics by request. Front bolt isn't permanently fixed I don't think. I suspect it could be removed if the retaining tab was bent down.

Still available. Duisburg seems to think this might be a repro. I don't, but can't prove it or be sure. Mike; you're up if you want it.

My experience has been that reproduction units have a thicker base, hard to purely tell in a picture, but if installed on the car in the standard location you will see an overhang of the bottom rubber grommet to the window edge frame, a few mm's. I think it looks klugy at best, a step child fit. Might want to show a picture to the buyer set of it held up to the door location as a means to dispel the repo comments. Looks like a really nice mirror - about six weeks ago I would have jumped to buy it.
