One more comment or question re the gold car above. I see that the front and rear deco are different. Narrow front, wide rear. I've seen this on other restored cars. Is this incorrect?

Definitely incorrect, either one (standard thin deco) or the other ("S" deco). Also, the deco under the doors are "S" deco. Very poor attention to detail with this restoration. Note the Bonhams 911T above, consistent standard thin deco over the entire car.

    Chassis# 9112110566
    Engine# 6121379
    Gearbox: 7323260 915/2
Paint Code: 341-9-1 Royal Purple (Lilac)/69
A 1972 Porsche 911T Targa 2.4 liter MFI. Royal Purple with a tan interior. 72,000 original miles car but the gauges were reset to zero.
Matching numbers car according to the COA.
The car was equipped with factory air conditioning. The A/C components have been removed but do come with the car. Hoses and fittings are still there so it can be converted to original.
The car was recently cosmetic restored to its original color combination.
The original engine was removed from the car, piston rings were replaced, then it was resealed and put back. Hasn’t been driven much since then, it needs to be broken in.

    • E/03
    • Alloy Wheels

Non-Sunroof coupe, Certificate of Authenticity, Matching Numbers, Very Original, Lightly Restored, Excellent Condition, Sepia Brown, CIS injection.

A recent leakdown test showed less than 4% leak down on all six cylinders.
Recent mechanical attention in the last 12 months include rebuilt shifter (front and rear), rebuilt rear brake calipers, completely restored oil tank, new oil cooler, seals and gaskets, all new oil lines, new OEM airbox, pop-off valve, and completely restored intake system. All parts used were original OEM-spec parts, or NOS Porsche parts where possible. Now running Brad Penn oil, with a new Porsche oil cooler, oil filter and air filter.
Service records since 2008 show the car received a new muffler, new windshield, new fuel pump, fuel tank removed, cleaned and relined, replaced fuel filter and lines, valve adjustment, Turbo valve covers, rebuilt distributor, new spark plugs, rebuilt alternator, new fan belt, rubber engine compartment seal, and more. The clutch and gearbox are smooth and solid, with records indicating a complete transmission and differential rebuild in 1992. The points ignition has been upgraded with electronic unit inside distributor. The brakes are firm and reassuring with new pads and fluid. This car is being driven regularly, and continually improved, having just received a new set of Wevo 'Black' engine mounts, as well as new stock transmission mounts, completely rebuilt axles and boots, and a fresh gearbox oil change using Redline MTL.

This car has been fitted with adjustable 911 'S' rear control arms, Koni Sport gas shocks, has been lowered slightly, aligned, and corner weighted for direct feel and responsive handling. All the Fuchs wheels (5) are correct, and in excellent original condition with new "205/60-15" Michelin tires (4). All gauges and lights work correctly with the exception of the clock. The tachometer bounces a little when it's cold, but settles down when it warms up. I like that it bounces a little though, as it seems so nostalgic, and mechanical.
    The interior appears very original.

This beautiful example of the iconic Porsche 911T is a matching numbers right hand drive vehicle originally delivered new to South Africa through Lindsay Saker Motors, Johannesburg. It is presented in marvellous condition having been beautifully restored recently to a very high standard by its current, third, owner. The engine was totally refreshed by Motion Automotive in February 2013. The work carried out also included new clutch kit, and new front and rear shock absorbers, whilst the factory standard Zenith carburettors were fully reconditioned. Invoices for all the work carried out are available. The interior is unrestored and presented in excellent original condition. The car also comes with a set of very good original 14" Fuchs wheels.

    Sold for A$184k (A$ 207k including premium - equivalent to US$ 151k (!!)

    1973 Porsche 911 T, Targa, 55k miles, ORIGINAL UNMOLESTED CAR - $69999

This is a very rare piece of Porsche 911 history. All original body, interior, engine, gearbox, even the stainless steel targa hoop retains its FACTORY brushed finish!

One repaint in factory color in the 90's. I recently had the wheels refinished in the correct silver (retaining all the factory date code stamps) and 4 new tires.

Car runs and drives incredibly. No smoke, no play in the steering, everything works as designed, even the heat!

    Car has no rust.

number matching car. this is a the last iteration of the 'long hood' 911's with the small bumpers, but being a 1973.5 it has alot of improvements to the chassis and drivetrain, most notably the introduction of Bosch CIS fuel injection (very smooth, very good power, light years ahead of the mechanical injection previously used).

Car has 55k original miles. Has the red plugs in the doors which indicates it receives dealership applied rust proofing (probably Ziebart). Car is really is in spectacular, original condition (including the radio!).

I'd like to research this a little bit. There's a conversation somewhere on these forums disagreeing with that. I have a '72T with S trim on the rear but not the front and there are others out there.
