Such a pretty dog!!! What breed? Mix?

My rescue is doing well. He is opening up more and more. Even fetching a ball and frisbee!!!

He owns the back seat of my truck!!!

Yup. Lab + Border Collie, me-thinks . . . more-or-less. Looks like a white dog that somebody dropped a really big ashtray on

But an interesting fellow. Of the five that we had, I'd thought he was the dumbest --- kinda slow on the take-up, ya know? Learned, well-enough . . . just not all-that quick. Turns out that he was probably the smartest. He's quiet, reserved --- + actually pretty shy . . . what's called an 'omega' . . . and it's his reserve that I took for dumb. But he can learn almost anything that I take the time to show him. He's also super-intense --- has the 'Aussie Death Stare' down. And he mumbles + growls + chirps so much, he would talk if he could

Howls in his sleep, too. Which is weird because --- he only howls at sirens, so . . .

. . . does he dream about sirens?

He's also super sweet. I only have a leash on him 'cause it freaks people out to see him without one when we stroll. But I can take him anywhere --- a really great house guest. Even gets along with cats

    Way-to-Go, Paul!

I think that dogs that do stuff with people are the happiest. Riding in car, chasing a ball, going places w/ Papa/Momma/the Brood, seeing/sniffing/getting into 'stuff' . . . is WAY better than a life spent in a yard, somewhere --- alone. OK-OK --- so they bark sometimes, or they're always peeing on something (or threatening to), or seem to shed a whole houseful o' hair every time you turn around. Seriously --- if I'm ever connected to a crime-scene, it'll prolly be because of Porty's hair that I left behind . . .

    . . . but --- I can NOT imagine being without him

    He's 12, now

    Home stretch

    Spend a lotta time together

Truck dogs are awesome! Cute picture of Nellie and her ball!!!

Charlie pretty much goes everywhere I go. Even along for an afternoon ride on my tractor! He can sleep anywhere!

Hopefully by full season when I am the busiest I'll have a fence erected. Then I am planning on looking for another rescue herding dog for a buddy so he won't get lonely.
