Sorry.
I was talking about the tab/bracket.
My car, RHD 302136 (17 September '65 ) has the heater tubes under the torsion bar, so did it continue until the 'fixed front strut mount' chassis changed at the end of October. Mine also has the little bracket. I have never found out what this bracket was for.
Anyone Know or got any ideas?
Ian
My car, 301382 also has the little bracket, and--I think--the lines that go with the photos in your left column.

My 912 450186 April 65 (first 2 pics) and the 301379 May 1965 (2nd 2 pics) have the heating pipe below the axle mount and also show the bracket. The last 2 pictures is from 303381 (Sep or Oct I think) and shows the bulkier area above the axle mount and no bracket.
Txs for highlighting this Franz, great stuff!

Here are a couple of shots - (just taken in not the best of conditions) of 302136. The original inner wings were hopelessly rotten and were replaced with the inner wings from a 912 (453335 mid-November build) which died to save my car. Both were identical in shape.
They show the changes were much later than presently thought.

This may have been covered before but yesterday I bead blasted my pedal assembly and noticed that the brake pedal arm looks like two pieces of sheet steel spot welded together then it has fat welds down both sides, looks kind of primitive, almost "home made". here are pics of both sides![]()
