BaT Description:
This 1971 Porsche 911T is a numbers-matching Targa that has been freshly repainted in its original Conda Green. The car reportedly spent most of its life garaged in rural Idaho and has racked up just under 84k miles since new, many of which were added by its previous owner of 20 years. A comprehensive cosmetic refurbishment was undertaken by the seller after purchasing it a year ago, and included the new paint along with fresh trim and interior items as detailed below. Carrera chain tensioners, a short shifter, and new tires have also been fitted, but the car is otherwise said to be largely unmodified. Its sale includes a Porsche CoA confirming its original color and engine number, along with partial records and a clean Idaho title.
The recent repaint was carried out to a high standard using Standox base/clear from Germany. Panels were removed and individually painted where possible, while the remainder of the body was coated with the windows and trim removed. The color-sanded and buffed finish exhibits a smooth and even gloss over clean panels that appear free of dings, scratches, or overspray. All original non-galvanized panels were inspected for rust upon removal, with necessary repairs amounting only to a handful of coin-sized holes beneath the rear window and fan area. A stock deck lid is currently mounted, but the matching “ducktail” version seen in some photos is also included. Refurbished black and polished 5.5×14″ Fuchs wheels show matching date codes and slight edge peeling. All are mounted with fresh S-rated rubber.
Ordered with the Comfort Equipment package, the car is equipped with S chrome rocker covers and gold scripts. Trim is a mix of original and new pieces sourced from Porsche or Stoddard, and all presents well with occasional minor blemishes. Stock front bumper guards have been removed but are included. Remaining black rubber is mostly undistorted and free of fading. Yellow headlights have been fitted in US-market sugar scoop buckets, while both front signals could use slight adjustment. The brushed stainless targa bar shows some wear at the bottom edges but looks clean up top, while the nicely fitting vinyl targa panel appears free of splits but shows some distortion. Most glass appears unharmed, though the passenger side window is scratched from being raised and lowered. The rear defroster is not currently working.
New OEM basketweave front seat material was sourced from Autobahn Interiors, and the original seat covers are also included in good condition. The front seats are said to recline and slide properly and have tilting headrests, while the rears remain in good original condition. The Comfort Equipment option included S instruments, aluminum sill covers and velour carpeting, which is new from Autos International and reportedly covers corrosion-free floors. Rear side panels are in good original condition as are door panels, which include somewhat warped but functional pockets. Distortion is present around the rear parcel tray. A new dash pad from Porsche houses intact plastic buttons, levers, and handles. The factory wheel includes crazing in its plastic center but few signs of use around its rim. An aftermarket short shifter is currently fitted and the stock shifter is also included.
Other controls are said to work well, including the high idle lever and emergency brake. Clear stock instrumentation shows bright needles and lettering, and all are said function appropriately aside from a sporadic oil tank level gauge. Indicated mileage of 84k is believed accurate by the seller. The original Blaupunkt AM radio is not currently functional. An air conditioning system is fitted but missing its compressor and bracket. The blower is said to work and the condenser, evaporator, and hoses are included. A clean liner covers the trunk area, where battery boxes are described as rust-free. The fuel tank was cleaned, sealed and dyed in the correct Porsche gray. A small area of pitting is described ahead of the tank, but no rot is reportedly present. A matching Fuchs wheel is lightly dented on the inside but usable as a spare.
Out back, the original 2.2L flat-six has reportedly been upgraded with oil-fed Carrera chain tensioners, while a recent service included a tuneup and full fluid change. Zenith Tin40 carburetors have been rebuilt with original metal screens and draw fuel from a freshly cleaned and sealed tank. The distributor is an untouched points-style unit The stock 5-speed transmission is said to shift smoothly and has been recently serviced with Swepco oil. Brakes are recently serviced and described as all new. Engine #6115396 is original to the car as confirmed in the Porsche CoA below. The drivetrain has reportedly been well taken care of throughout its life, though service records are unavailable prior to 2000. Having driven the car 500 miles during the past year’s short Grand Teton driving season, the seller says it runs and drives well with tight steering and suspension and no outstanding issues.
Both heat exchangers have been refinished over pitting and dents, while the muffler is a newer item. No signs of excessive leakage are visible, though a few drops of oil show on the garage floor if the car is left sitting for extended periods. Floors, pans, wheel wells, and trunk sides wear a fresh-looking protective coating and no notable corrosion is visible in photos. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity above verifies the original Conda Green, matching engine number, and options including the Fuchs wheels and a retractable antenna. Original literature is included in the sale along with the spare parts mentioned above.

I rarely see a rear wiper on an early 911T. The 911 is bundled with a 1969 912 Coupe.

Seller's Description:
I'm selling two Porsches that were restoration projects my father and I were meant to someday complete, however he passed away a little over a year ago and I realized the best decision is to sell them.
There's a 1969 Porsche 912 and 1970 Porsche 911T. The 911T has matching numbers and I have the original passbook for it. The 911T was purchased in Germany by my mother from the previous sole owner who was an opera singer. It was shipped to and driven in Nova Scotia for a number years, until 20 years ago where it had been sitting in two different garages since.
The 912 was purchased 18 years ago from two brothers who had inherited it, and prior to that it was sitting in a garage for 20+ years.
I hired a local classic automotive repair shop to remove the cars from the garage that they both were driven into with running engines, catalogue the parts inventory, as well as to give feedback on their condition. They also took photos of underneath each car and specific inventory parts. The classic repair shop spent a few hours getting the 912 running and said at minimum it needed the carburetors stripped and cleaned - otherwise said it's a good little car. They didn’t work on or attempt to get the engine of the 911T running, however I believe it should run once put back together and 'cleaned' up as it was originally driven into the garage; my father a number of years ago started to take the engine apart to do work on it.
I have the ownership papers all in order for both cars. The cars are in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. ADDITIONAL PHOTOS: http://imgur.com/a/k9VSY and http://imgur.com/a/jXvcN
What you're bidding on (sold as is):
Porsche 1970 911T Condition: "Underneath is in very poor condition rust wise. The 911, engine is in major disrepair, parts removed off of engine, water/condensation ingress into the ports, the engine would need a lot of work to get running, if it would run with just the parts replaced. If it didn't run we would have to do a complete diagnose/rebuild etc. The car has sat for all those years, it would need the electrical and fuels systems gone through just to try to get the engine running."
Porsche 1969 912 (VIN # 912129020144) Condition: "There are very slight rust holes to the front underside but nothing crazy. The engine is running in the 912, engine sounds okay, but is in need of tuning up, etc, new parts like plugs, points, fuel pump etc as it has been sitting for all those years, it was not driven around as the brakes are seized and rusted due to the sitting for years."
I forgot to get the mileage of the cars. I will find out, so please ask if you are wanting to know.

Seller's Description:
This is a 1971 911T. I bought this for my wife in 2012 however she never learned to drive manual. I have enjoyed the car greatly. I had a few other 1971 models during this time this was my favorite. I'm 6'5" and just not the car for me. Its in very good condition. Was restored by the prior owner, an active Porsche enthusiast. It is numbers matching engine. Originally was white, but has been repainted Porsche Red. It's an excellent daily driver or could be part of a collection as it was for me. I have stored the vehicle inside a vapor proof garage, never driven in rain or snow during my care, and maintained it in a very clean always detailed condition. Its a beautiful car to look at. Has original Fuchs wheels. Short shifter package. Starts right up. Odometer reads 39,280, I believe that to be 139,280 (I'm not 100%)
No known issues of any significance. The carbs could be cleaned for smoother top end (but does not inhibit driving), there is one small paint bubble on the lower passenger panel right behind front wheel (i showed close up picture, but its hard to see). Has a very small/light oil drip which is pretty standard for this year and make.
Your welcome to send over an appraiser or specialist to check it out.
