I'll never use the AC (I live at 8200 ft and it adds a lot of weight), so I am inclined to sell it. I need a rough idea of what it is worth. Obviously old if it was factory for a 72, under dash factory unit...complete w/ wiring harness. TIA

I would just keep all of it for the point in time that you pass your car onto its next custodian...

It is virtually impossible to tell from the pictures and description. Does it work, what kind of condition is are the interior vents, knobs and fans in? Is it complete with al the brackets, lines, and bolts? The interior air handler that would give a factory A/C look is the most valuable part, so it really depends on the condition of that. I would think that part would be worth $500 in decent condition.

The control knobs appear incorrect...

Agree with Chuck, valuable parts are under dash unit and compressor mount. $5-600 sounds like a good starting point.

Cosmetic condition of the diffuser is the deciding factor on price. A perfect one could bring $1000, I believe. A typical one $3-400.

Think of it This Way
What would it take/cost to collect all your OG Bits for that nasty/dumpy/heavy/in-efficient/un-used AC unit?
How many trips to how swap-meets?
How many on-line searches, phone calls?
And how would you know what-goes-where, or how to get stuff to fit, then make it work?
And what about 10 --- or 20 years from now?
These cars will likely out-live us all. And while YOU may not use/esteem/value these bits . . .
. . . what about The Next Knucklehead
'Cause --- unless you're taking it with you (like, on a Viking funeral) . . . there 're 'll always be a Next Knucklehead
IMO . . .
. . . what ever you stand to gain by selling these bits . . .
. . . will be trivial compared to the cost-of-(re)-aquisition of these same --- anywhere down the road
Put it Another Way . . .
. . . any sale of your OG bits would be a truly cosmic mistake
Just ask some of the Knuckleheads searching-out/restoring/re-installing their stupid/incendiary gas-heaters, fercryinoutloud

I figure if I sell the AC system...I'm selling it to either the future "hopeful" owner, or I am making someones day. Saying that I am making a "cosmic mistake" is a stretch... but being a Viking decendant, all I gotta say is "cool visual". I have enough hoard to not want to save this stuff for the next 20 years. At what point do you just have to say "enough"?
