WTB: plastic pin on glove box lock / glove box 1971 911T

    Wanted:
After 47 years of use, the (triangular) plastic pin mechanism of my glove box lock broke off...any possibility of a replacement?

Willing to pay for an used lock or entire glove box lid, if I can salvage off the pin from it.

    1971 2.2litre.

    Thx.

Here the now empty area of the glove box lock, the pin is mounted within the metal arch.

I assume you mean the black plastic piece on the back of the lock. There are several varieties as shown. Do you know which you need? Does it matter which one?

    Let me know.

    Tom, thx for your comments.
I am on travel until july 24, i kept the broken piece at home.’
I beleive it looks different than above and basicially sticks out of the metal structure seen in post 1. (Im not shure and might be wrong-will check)

One of the few differences in 2.2 litre cars were the location of the glove box lock (left: 1970 - middle 1971) and its type (maybe ?) differed too.

Thx again, will post and pm once i get my broken pin.

I am looking for one for a 1974 as well... Can't believe that they made this from Plastic, not very "German engineering..."

A member sent me pics of an item he has, looks like this is the one (thx!)

For the records, here the design with triangular shaped pin.
It differs from pre-1971 lock design.
Turning the key “sucks” the pin in, glove box is locked when the pin pops out again, when releasing key.

Pin threw me off. Was thinking of a small round piece of metal. I had to look it up, that part is, in the lock trade referred to as the bolt & more specifically a spring bolt here, since it has a spring action. Glad someone came thru with one. .....cliff
probably has a pin securing the bolt to the lock!

Yes its spring activated. Sorry I named it as a pin and not a bolt. Plastic bolt, btw.
