810: They should call it a recreation then, but best advise it to leave it alone. It is just criminal to create a car on a false VIN number. May be it was easy to get that done in Hong Kong..

0556 is nice, only kneepads are the G model version and they claim it has a Kardex, can't be right, they did not exist anymore for year 1973. Probably a copy of the 'Auftrag" or build sheet

i don't know the vin number BUT if it is true that the car has been held by the current owner for the past 20 years it may not be on anyone's radar / lists. It is not even clear what the original colour was - GP white or something else as the engine bay is black which it should not be and there is no evidence of a paint tag - readable or not. Also no indication of what market it was originally delivered to.
one thing for sure though is that it is a late series car and a M472 even though the exterior looks like an M471.
It is an April 73 car at the earliest (0880+) as it has only one bolt on the fan strap, the indentation/ bump on the LHS of the rear cross panel, the Can Am decal ((March 2), the 300kph speedo (March 9), the revised face on the oil / Temp multi purpose gauge (March 28) and the winged nut on the fuse cover in the engine bay. All of these are in March or post March cars.
So even if restored with some changes it is almost certain that all would not have been changed.
On another note I hope the oil has been changed since 2010 but the writing on the oil filter suggests it may not have been :-(

Anyone have interesting info on 911 360 0979 ?
Engine bay - that seemed the disconnect to me. As the exterior and interior have been cleaned up, the engine bay seems completely neglected. The black engine bay is a mystery, as you stated, it should be the body color.
The speaker grill (hole pattern) does not look accurate, and a crack in the dash pad (on an RS? ) and an over restored or replacement steering wheel?

I believe it was restored by Freisinger. Rallye history in Germany. I have seen the car in 2013 with English owner and had license plate VHJ 536L. For sale at the Hairpin Co Nov 2014, license plate then CPP 911L. For sale Aug 2015 by Roock in Germany. Then for sale Oct 2017 Pyritz Classic, Apr 2019 Arthur Bechtel Classic Cars, 2020 PS Automobile. Doubt it was driven much from 2014 until now.
