It appears that there have been NO fatalities reported but a lot of structural damage to buildings, ( Australia unlike NZ does not get a lot of Quakes and most of their buildings are of the 'brick' built era )
After shocks are being reported up to 4Mag

The earthquake was about 60 miles due North...

Lots of shake'n in the shop and at home... But no real damage thank goodness...

    Thanks Mark and Chuck
We are all OK - yes there was damage in some areas - but limited to that as far as I know
The house shook a bit an swayed a bit from side to side for about 20 seconds (frightened the dogs) but no damage here

I have seen reports blaming New Zealand already saying it was the movement of a tectonic plate over your way that cause a disruption along a fault line here -
It looks like people are not wasting any time putting the blame on the Kiwis

However it was a big deal for Victoria and Melbourne with the 5.8 (revised) scale quake supposedly the largest since settlement here

Hugh, that is good to hear that all is well.
Luckily this is not a Rugby forum as all hell would break loose and us Kiwi's would be blamed for everything regarding our countries moving closer.
As a point of interest, our 2 dog's behaved very strangely 5 minutes before my Earthquake alert app sent me a notification of the Melbourne shake.
We have property near Rotorua on Lake Rotoiti and it gets hit by Quakes really hard all the time.
    Take care my fellow ANZAC's
