That's a very difficult to read update, Ravi.

You've shown some incredible patience and attention to detail over the years with your car, not to mention your reverence for the shop that now seems to have moved on from you without the right transition. I had always admired that place from afar. The pictures were a step back in time.

I hope you can meet your health challenges here in 2020 and maybe some behind the scenes goodness happens to get your car sorted out. I see a PM just above that may set something into motion...

    Best wishes

Wow Ravi, I hope your health improves, it is first priority. It just seems like yesterday that your started to restore your car, and in the beginning of this thread, you were on a world record pace, and now 7.5 years later, it's still not done to the standards that you set. You truly are what this REGISTRY is suppose to be all about, and even though I haven't met you, I feel like I know you. I wish you the best and stay strong.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone and for the many PMs. I'll respond to those over the next few days. Been taking a few days off the internet to recuperate after finishing writing a big research grant over the holidays. Life in academia is fun

The good news is I feel just fine. I weight lift 3 days a week and walk our energetic German Shepherd 30-50 minutes every night. If my blood chemistry wasn't off, I'd never know I was sick. And maybe that's for the best!

Ravi, just adding to the best wishes and positive comments from the group.
I’ve been quietly following your thread from the beginning. It’s been a long journey. I’ve even contributed (sold) some parts to your project.
I simply admire your positivity and determination to “push on” when the going gets tough. I’m not sure that I could have taken the “higher moral ground” that you have, given some of the experiences you have endured (I think I would have “lamb-basted” somebody!!!) so I greatly admire your fortitude! And generosity of spirit! Also one reason why I “live vicariously through others” restorations instead of embarking on my own!
Anyway, look after yourself (as you obviously are, with that workout routine!) and we look forward to reading your future instalments.
    Cheers,
    Gary

We don't have enough dog pictures here. Xander gets to come to work with me every day, which is a wonderful reprise from the stresses of work and health. 3 yr old ex-RCMP search and rescue dog. Pic is rotated, but you get the picture. Here he is guarding my office.

Like magic, I heard from Robert today. Pulled his back before Christmas and was out of commission with the flu for the past week. But he DID finish the space cam tuning and the results are pretty spectacular. Multi-angle shaping of the bowl area of the head has yielded 75% flow through instead of the low to mid 60% numbers in a stock motor.

And the dyno run shows it developing hp right up to 7200 k where I have set the Partsklassik CDI box. Sounds sweet. What a beautifully balanced motor. I guess certain things are worth waiting for. The motor is supposed to be back in the car next week when he returns to the shop.

    Specs now
    199hp@6250
    206hp@6700
    209.5hp@6900
211-212hp@7050-7200 and no sudden drop off.
    Torque 175lbs @ 5400

Link to motor on the dyno. AFR looks good too. I've always tuned my air cooled motorcycle engines to 12.8 to 13.2 when well ported and it looks like this made its max hp and torque at similar numbers. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n49umgsutt..._8206.mov?dl=0
