    Aero . . .

    . . . from the '68 thru '70 PDLs . . .

    422/109/1

    . . . moving + becoming . . .

    Aero Porsche Audi, Inc

    etc

    . . . sometime after --- late '70, maybe (?)

    Jeez --- another band-sander resto, looks like, w/ only the faintest traces of dessicated original paint left --- bluish + whitish (?) that I can tell . . . and, like most Aeros that I've seen . . . pretty beat-up + crackly/crusty + decomposed-looking. See post #48, pic #4 . . .

    This particular frame is interesting because, even though Aero calls itself a VW store . . . there's no VW badging --- only Porsche

    Anyway, going by the others that I've seen, this prolly started out as white-lettering-on-blue-etc . . . std CA pass plt-etc

    . . . then, curiously --- shown/listed as moving back to the Monterey address, the following year

    Hmm

    Dull white lettering/dull black back-round, flash chromed shown w/ vintage CA pass 'black plate'

    Wester was involved w/ Porsches from much earlier --- his 1st race win = 1957 . . . but not sure when he began selling them. Had a VW store, too, starting in '61. Going by the format + colors of this frame --- + the similarity to a McAfee? --- see post #13 . . .

    . . . I'm guessing that this frame is from the late-'50s-to-early-'60s


    Really belongs on a 356, but . . .

    Old-time air-cooled dealer, going back to Gene Klein, in the early '50s, + starting-out w/ Volkswagen

    Virtually no paint left on this one, that I can see --- so your guess is as good as mine . . . otherwise, a pretty decent frame w/ only minimal corrosion nibbling away @the plating. Nice + crisp detailing . . . might even survive a resto? Plate = std CA pass, etc
