    Clicking from door stop

Worn Clevis pin and oval hole in the bracket caused clicks when opening and closing the door. Checked threads and solutions were filing the bracket hole round, then making a custom clevis pin or using a taper pin or welding and drilling a new hole or a 6mm bolt. Went with the 6mm-16 bolt with 4 nylon washers between each piece(photo just shows the top washer) and a unlock nut. Works great.

The nylon washers were #10, because no metric washers were at the hardware store- had to open up the ID.

The original detent on the stop had worn down to .225” from the .275” on a new one, so there was nothing left to hold the door in place

That has to be one of the most effective, satisfying, and inexpensive repairs on a 911. I did it to my ‘78 and it worked great.
