I agree with Eric that the actual number is probably still not known

As there is no specific vin number or other identifier for such cars it would require someone to go through all the kardex files for all cars produced in those years (assuming that they all exist)

I had heard that a couple of different people had given that project some thought, potentially doing a book on them, but the sticking point, as always, is access to the records which is problematic to say the least and now with all of the frauds happening I think even more unlikely, at least in the near future. I agree though that it would be great to have such a list either in this thread or in a dedicated thread with nothing else in it that could be linked to this thread

I think that i have added all the ones I know to Eric's list but when I get some time I will see what I have to match a vin list to photos and kardexes. Another interesting thing is that some (maybe many) had special gearboxes and a smaller number had "engine enhancements" for more power done by the race department before delivery. I have been trying to keep a list of those as well but mostly that information is only available on a kardex and even then the details of the engine enhancements have to date escaped me although it is clear that there are (or were) specific lists of the changes made in the files somewhere

This thread is extremely interesting. Should we include all 67s cars raced. There has to be many SCCA cars hidden in plain sight.

There are certainly many more cars with special engines, transmissions and sports options. I have spent much of the day going through my data looking for more that might qualify.

I would humbly suggest that we keep this thread focused on the current topic of a “list of 1967 model year cars built with the Rally Kit and SportKit I or II. Order numbers were 9552 for the 911 Rally Kit, 9551 for the 911S Rally Kit, 9555 for the 911S SportKit I and 9556 for the 911S SportKit II”

Once we exhaust finding all of the Rally Kit and Sportkit cars, maybe then we continue the thread with any other factory special or sport options?

HughH has connected this car and license plate number to either 306656S or 306657S

    S YS 847 was 306657S

306656S was S YS 849 shown below and 306655S was as you posted above S YS 848

and I think I can add another 3 rallye kit cars after a quick look at my files

307777 911635 nurburgring gears rallye kit rally car Scania Varba
308258S 961936 rallye kit RHD Robinson? Newton? maybe the one you have blank as Richardson? It was a June car
308278S 961934 164926 901/02 rallye kit but not a competition car? Edit the gearbox number on the kardex is 164926 but there is a typo and I think it should be 104926 as a 16xxxx gearbox is out of the range of ones built

There are a few other cars that probably people may have thought would be on the list but the kardex does not show any sign of "sport equipment" so they dont qualify as enhanced from the factory. These include the Jennings car 308472S and the King-Hedinger car 308505S.

I have this as sold by and initially registered to Newton. Some interesting options including ski mounts and a sunroof. I think it was registered VML 33E when in the UK, but has more recently been in Australia. Is it still around? I'd love to know more about the Robinson connection. The Richardson car is a different car.

    Thought I posted this already...

Bert Everett's car from 1967 was one of the three factory Trans Am cars with the same options as Netterstrom's and Leckow's. Don't know the VIN but all of these passed through Don. Maybe he can help?
