    W: 911 Coupe, non-matching ok, driver, project ok, Budget $15k - NYC -

    Hello, longtime lurker.

I've been a fan of the more classic air-cooled 911s my entire life, and It's come time to look for one of my own.

As the title states, I'm looking for a 911. My budget is around $15k for a decent drivable specimen.

It does not need to be numbers-matching nor perfect, but strong drivetrain and minimal rust preferred. As long as there is no life-threatening issue with the car, it will be considered.

I prefer a COUPE. Color does not matter (especially if unoriginal anyway)

I am located in NYC area, but am comfortable with long-distance if the price is right.

I'm also on pelican parts and have been scouring Craigslist for cars - currently have inquired about 25+ cars in the last few weeks ranging from 1 hour away to one 1-hour flight away. If the price is right for the right car, it's worth it.

Please comment here or PM me.

    - JBaker

    Dealers welcome.

Unless you're ok with rust buckets, I think you're dreaming a little. Nice non running projects will bring 20K.

While were making appeals to the genie in the bottle, Ill take Kate Upton.

I've come across a few within this price range. (read: "around $15k")

As for the first two comments, I have already come across a few - about 25 total - within this price range on craigslist and another Porsche forum. All of which are what I am looking for. Running, drivable, "okay" cars. "decent drivable specimen" does not mean "concours quality"

I looked at that one already. It's a targa. Has no drivetrain. Not what I'm looking for. Thanks for the link.

Also, anyone know why my other thread was deleted in the "other porsche Cars..." area of the forum? I figured if I'm looking at car with a large year range that two separate threads would be appropriate...

Maybe you are looking at mid to late 70s cars? You should certainly be able to find one in the price range that you are looking at. I just don't see a nice longhood driver being available in the 15K range.

yeah, I'm looking at both 60's and 70's. That's why I posted in both forum sections. I have a general idea of the market but am still sort of new. I'd like to see what I can "get" in the older ones compared to the newer 70's etc. It's like a zig zag of car values between the years....

What I meant to say is that if it is a decent roller for around that budget, that's okay too. I really meant the "driver" portion for the newer cars, but I kind of just copy-pasted in both forums because I'm at work.

I was expecting flak anyway, but any help would be appreciated.

even if it's a decent chassis, or a car with drivetrain that is missing a few body panels or has rust issues, etc... it will be considered....

As far use, it will be mixed street/track/weekend/coffee run. Not expecting to create a show car.
