1971 Porsche 911 2.2 S FIA Historic Race Track Car

    No affiliation...

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1971-Porsche-9...item564124354a

A gorgeous period 1971 911 Race Car, on the button and ready to compete. Eligible for all historic based series.

Based on an original 1971 911 S 2.2 Coupe with Chassis number verification to prove, and fitted with a genuine 2.7 RS 911/83 engine and gearbox.

Complete with FIA barcode paperwork, CSAI Italian papers and even a very rare copy of the original homologation papers.

Converted to a race car years ago from an extremely straight shell, this car raced in the Swiss Porsche series for many years. The car has never suffered any major damage.

    Shell:
Lightweight metal front and rear wings
    GRP bonnet and engine lid
    FIA full roll cage
    Front strut brace

    Interior:

Sparco pro 2000 FIA race seats
    Fire extinguisher
All original dials with 7200rpm tacho
    Brake bias adjuster

    Suspension and Brakes:

    Bilstein shock absorbers and inserts
Upgraded anti roll bars front and rear
    3.0 RS spec vented brakes
    7 and 8 x 15" Fuchs style wheels with Toyo R888's

    Engine:

    Original 2.7 RS 911/83 engine.
Rebuilt in 2007 due to cracked block with all genuine RS parts, blank RS crank cases, all new bearings, gaskets and seals. Heads, cam cover, MFI system, all date stamped as original 2.7 RS. Very little use since.

    Transmission:

    915 transmission with LSD.

A well presented, historic 911, ready to compete in a most historic race series.

    9111310058

    . . . 71 'S' at Carparc:

    VIN = 9111310058
    Eng# = 6310166
    Trans# = 'not recorded'
    Tango on black

This car was imported from Brescia Italy in 2001 and had only two owners in Italy. After importing the car into the US it had two more owners before it was purchased by us. Obviously the car has European specifications.

We just finished a full engine rebuild in our own shop, incl cylinder heads with new valves, valve guides and valve springs, see pictures. Of course we fitted new Carrera oil fed chain tensioners with new guides and chains!

Furthermore this S gets a full mechanical service and components rebuild, including brakes, suspension, new fuel tank, new Wurth undercoating etc. New Koni Shock absorbers. New German carpet (Autos International) installed, doorpanels, seats recovered, etc etc.

The 6" Fuchs wheels including the spare have been professionally polished and correctly painted, New tires Bridgestone 205/60/15.

The paint is several years old but shows only minor wear, beautiful and shining in original color Tangerine (Blut Orange).

    Rick Kreiskott

Rick, thanks for pointing out our car. To maintain full disclosure on it I would like to add the following comment, we purchased this car as a matching numbers car per COA from the AZ owner (post 243), however when it arrived we quickly found out that the engine was a 1972 911/53 2.4S engine bearing the 2.2 engine number from the COA. In other words someone did a "restamp"...
We contacted the previous owner who was genuinely unaware of it so the restamp must have been done in Italy back in the day.... We decided to keep the 2.4S engine in it and the least we could do is to perform a full rebuild on it, see pictures on our website.

    Cheers,

    Henk Baars.
