    1969 MFI solenoid wiring question

    Hi all-

Quick question about how to wire the solenoid on the '69E.

There are two wires, one gray, one red, that are shown to connect to the MFI solenoid. However, the solenoid only appears to have one terminal, not two.

Is this a 1969 thing? Do I have the wrong solenoid or harness?

    Thank you in advance!
    Cheers,

Thank you for the responses. I can see where the lower solenoid was removed and replaced by a plate with a spring and post in the middle. I suspect the solenoid switcharo happened many years ago when a PO updated the engine to 2.4 specs.

Can this engine be wired and run with only the Start solenoid?

Thank you very much in advance!
    Cheers,

That spring /plate is the idle adjuster. What you have there is the shut off solenoid, probably a later pump without the start enrichment solenoid.
