    '14 Parade Concours photos

Attached are my best shots from yesterday's Concours…………my apologies for mis-spelling Parade - Thank you moderators for fixing it. Much appreciated

Started out cold, wet & overcast ( what else would you expect, it's the Monterey Peninsula ) until the sun came out and screwed up the photography…….but I think you'll get the general idea of the layout, attendance and spirit of the day from what I've posted. There's no particular order, I've tried to group the shots in some kind of logical sequence i.e. such as arrival, the first Porsche I saw in the parking lot, staging, Concours set-up, etc. There were quite a few impressive cars of which I'm posting multiple shots, and in some cases an entire set of five. All-in-all it was a great day, met lots of friends and had many a chat with folks I haven't seen in a long while and saw some sensational Porsches, but yet, Porsche Parades always have a completely different ambiance than R Gruppe, EASY, Rennsport Reunions or other Porsche events - which is not to say worse or better, but certainly different.

Hate me, yell at me, critisize me all you want…………. but please don't expect rich detail coverage of short-hood cars - I'm simply not interested in them and choose to devote the posted photos to cars that I know the membership appreciates.

I'm leaving on vacation in a couple of days and as is my custom I won't have a computer nor a phone with me, therefore won't be available for answers and commentary.

    Enjoy.

next set - this will be the biggest posting of photos in one sitting I've ever done, well over 100 shots. Hope that doesn't present a problem.

……...another five, this time entirely devoted to one car, the signal-yellow '72 which was the subject of Randy Wells's superb article and excellent photographs in a recent Panorama. This car really is a masterpiece. Yes, it is over-restored to Pebble Beach standards to which no production 911 was ever treated, but it reflects an extra-ordinary commitment to unmatched quality and in my opinion sets new standards. Outstanding…………..unfortunately the judges dinged the owner for incorrect door seals. I don't know the particulars because I didn't stick around for the results, but those of you who care about that sort of thing might want to follow up to see how it fared in the over-all results at the end of the day.

and the next 5. I was particularly imprtessed by the neat, self-sufficient set-up the owner of the silver short hood brought to prepare his entry.

and another five, including the middle two images of the astonishingly original and well-preserved very dark blue '66 which emerged after 36 years of storage in a garage in Palos Verdes and was shown at the European Collectibles Open House in '12 and promptly sold to a very happy new owner who obviously has brought it back to like new comdition.

What a wonderful car and story behind it.
