Thread: The Ultimate 1969 Soft Window Targa (SWT) Thread

  1. #61
We have a 1969 911S Factory Soft Window Targa. We have gotten and seen multiple different answers regarding exactly how many 1969 911S Soft Window Targa were built by the factory.

Does anyone have a definitive number as to how many factory built 1969 911S Soft Window Targas were made?

    Thanks!

You were asking about how many

Think it's prolly more a matter of how many 've survived. Plus --- lotsa cars were converted to glass windows in-period, seems

And '69 Ss are already pretty special cars, anyway --- 1st year long wheel-base, 1st year MFI, last year for 2-litre, etc, etc

So from looking at the list of cars compiled, so far, one can only guess, but --- IMO . . . I'd say less than 5% (maybe WAY?) of total 'S' production were ever configured this way. Now --- break it down by 'matching numbers' + colors, etc, and the numbers become literally handfuls

And anyone who has one of these cars has something that's beyond just 'rare' . . . and very special

    Previous appearance/mention . . .

Good evening beh911, I just purchased 119210282 on pcar and I saw your comments which were very helpful. I also noticed you have the kardex, is that something you would be willing to share or sell? the car appears to be lovely and this restorer does have a good reputation but I think the car should have tan carpets? I also think the seats would have head rests, but these transition years are tricky, my 70 had em. I appreciate your feedback!
