    911 S 1969 Burgundy - Moretti/Ostini Targa Florio homage

I'm glad to introduce you another car i made for an italian friend, this time with stock engine to respect the first Porsche large-production engine with mechanical fuel pump.

When i saw the external color in the early days of restoration process, a fantastic Burgundy, i remembered that this color was used in a very famous car here in Italy:

The Nomex ( nickname for Mr. Giampiero Moretti, owner of the MoMo firm) / Ostini 911 used for the 1969 Targa Florio Race.

So we decided to restore the car with a top class restoration process ( lot's of Nos/nla parts was used here) with a visual homage to such a car.

    This is the result:

( ok, the bonnet stripes are missing... but perhaps they were too strong for such beautiful car.. )

fantastic sporty look for a stock car! ( the 69 sticker is the original unmolested one... mounted not so straight ... too many beers those days Klaus!!)

and of course a touch of italian taste for interiors: dark red/black pepita fabric for the original Recaro seats...

    Very nicely done, as usual.

Do you know what happened to the original Targa Florio car?

my understanding is that it was 11825233 and it was for sale at elevenparts a few years ago (maybe 5?) At that stage I recall it was painted gulf blue or similar with orange stripes. The vendor was Italian but I have no idea of where it went from there
