Interesting bit w/ mix of features. Sturdy + serviceable. Top slat + verticals have the same rounded cross-sections as older frames, but 'waffle' stamps in lower corners stand in for RWB's delicate scribing. Lower slat has been roughly drilled for plate mounting --- punching-through some of the lettering, there . . . and this seems to be a common practice on later frames. No makers' marks on this --- just some numbers, in light relief, on the lower back slat . . . '0' + '5' + '7' + '6' = date codes, maybe?

Not much paint to go by, here . . . only some few traces of dull white --- on letters + back-round. I would guess that the letters were blue, but . . . flash-chromed, proper/standard/faithful RWB &Co. Plate = std WA pass-iss, etc . . .

Dull dark-blue lettering on a dull white back-round, flash-chromed . . . no Makers' marks/ID . . . but has a lot of the same detailing/features as vintage a RWB &Co. Plate = std NY pass iss, etc

Kind of a not-so-long shot, here. Dealer's actual name is not spelled-out --- but Porsche + 'Long Island City' w/ PDL reference + vintage frame = close enough

Not the prettiest frame --- looks like it may've been subjected to a little 'driveway resto/touching-up' of the paint, at some point . . . haphazard white over too-bright/poorly-applied med met blu, flash-chromed. Plate = std CA pass iss, etc

Old, old dealership --- I've seen 356 coupes w/ these frames, going back to at least the early '60s

Today, Space Saver Personal Storage is at the 1st address . . . while the 2nd looks derelict

The VW dealership stayed open and Porsche separated when the P/A store was started like many other VW stores. I left in 72 when they sold to Atlas (Salta).
It was a great place while it lasted...Sponsered many race cars...etc.
