There is a similar thread here:
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...d-Plate-frames

Are East Coast small town dealers allowed on this thread?

The below pic is of the frame and plate that were on my car new on the showroom floor. I still use the frame today.

69 was the last year for Harmon Motors to sell Porsches in Raleigh, NC.

Also attached is a period 70-71 shot of the 911 dealer plate like mine on a showroom car (dealer is definitely not Harmon!).

I had to throw in a period shot of the used car lot of Harmon. Last pic courtesy of this great Samba thread:
    http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65292

I have been in touch with the guy who was Parts Manager when the car was purchased. He and Mike stayed friends all these years. He has some great stories!

    Neat stuff

    Heck, yeah!

    And the smaller the better.

Ever hear of Bear Bryant Volkswagen . . . in Tuscaloosa? Sold Porsches.

How 'bout Nu-Kar Sales, Inc . . . in Anchorage. (I'd settle for a photo of their Store.)

    They're out there --- some where . . .

    That's a nice looking frame.
I know of a 73 Stoddard car with 39k original miles that still has the dealer stock sticker in the lower right corner of the windshield. Stoddard can supposedly still look the car up in their records based on this 38 year old sticker.
I'll try to get a picture of it and post.

    If anyone ever sees....

"Cavalier Porsche Audi" plate frames, please let me know and Sithot and I can then fight over who gets them.

Porsche Corporate was convinced in the early 70's that Richmond needed a dealership, so they talked a couple of guys into leaving Heishman's or might have been Capital in DC to go to Richmond and open up a dealership. Porsche promoted the new dealeship by adverstising it on the side of Peter Greg's Orange #59 car that ran at Summit Point and later in what I think may have been the inaugural IMSA race at VIR. You can find archived pics of Greg's car sporting Cavalier Porsche Audi, Richmond, VA on the door. Porsche corporate didn't do such a great job choosing the folks to open the Richmond dealership and they were a little premature in their belief Richmond could support a dealership and it folded a couple of years after it opened.
