What a saga
Hi Brian
Hope you are keeping well?
No sorry I didn't see the car or any documents at Bonhams and not sure I'd have bothered to spend any time viewing it at an auction given the rather odd tale related by Pesto360 and others elsewhere on www.
This old Bonhams link may be the same car? Don't recall all of the details written in the many web pages of that lengthy saga on the other site -- wasn't there said to be a legal case held in UK about a car with that chassis number? If so, presumably some documentation was prepared for that?
https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/17261/lot/241/
U.K. Registration is different between the two listings but the one in latest link "RST91L" might have been purchased as a private numberplate from the UK vehicle licensing authorities since the earlier sale.

That's interesting. I always thought the internal factory reference for the 73 RS was the 'SC', hence the fan housing sticker so marked on all the cars I've seen so far but your information indicates otherwise. Does your fan sticker on your early first series car have 'RS' or 'SC' as a prefix?

Hi Mike
IIRC: Strap sticker SC (KG) and front aluminium plate has Typ 911 SC (KG) . Guess this service information booklet's detail must tie into story of the C being added to make SC an evolution of the existing 911 S (rather than complexity of separate new 911 model). A pragmatic approach to approval and for development-speed purposes.
Wasn't there a plan for 2.7 S model that was aborted in favour of limited homologation variant and / or the MY 74 Carrera 2.7 model that due to lead time would probaly have been under development in parallel.
I need to refresh my memory on the two RS Book's to explanations of all that stuff as can't quite recall all the details.

Doing very well thank you Steve. I am enjoying your contributions to the this as well as other threads on the forum. Thanks for that also.
The description of car in that Bonhams auction listing mentions the report I was asking about, namely that M-P examined the car, sprinkled some of their pixie dust on the car and Voila!, it become a 'genuine' Carrera RS. I have never read the entire report but it was produced and presented in a legal proceeding you mentioned.
Too bad this thing still exists. Should have been scraped and turned into a bunch of coffee tables or something else more useful.

Don't know asking price directly but on the DDK forum in UK regular poster says when he called dealer he was told asking price for the former Pesto360 car is GBP£295k (almost USD385k).
Last RHD example first 500 series car for sale in UK? ( if series starts with 0010)
Appeared here before, back around Christmas 2015. Presumably as with current owner since 2010 it didn't sell back then? Not sure if on market since then or recently put up for sale again?

Not mine no affiliation. (Haven't seen car. Don't know asking price personally so can't substantiate rumoured figure of £700k that reached my ears.)
Forex movements of late could influence the sale if £ cheaper to overseas buyer?
Didn't look at photos in much detail but happened to spot a few things while posting e.g. ....Rear bumper, front spoiler, steering wheel, 7&8 wheel width not the. 6&7 spec of early series cars, decal positioning?

This is the best picture he could conjure up for the $800k asking price.
