sorry to hear about the camera

that is a rare and nice seat -thanks for sharing-is there are relationship for the cords running vertical vs horizontal-is that a manufacturing change or is it specific to brand-BMW,Porsche etc.I have not been able to figure this out most early porsche seats run horizontal?Any help apprciated.

Well it was not the "good" camera, just the one at the workshop, so not a great deal to replace.
The pictures do not really show what it is - this is BMW Courduroy as used on e3, e9 and 2002 Luxus and it is blue.
The other Idealsitz S I have is still in original upholstry, and black/black, but needs work, and the other 2 have have been upholstered already.
But it's a grat seat which has the old look but the feel of the later L, LN and LS models - and costs a fraction of the Idealsitz (S-Seat)
More Pictures to come when I have the camera and seats at the same time at the same place.

Thx for posting these brochures uai. Can you tell me the recaro model numbers of the 4 seats on the left page ? I cannot make out the numbers printed on top of the blue background. And do you know when either of these brochures were printed (ASS and /or Recaro) . I would guess 1979 or later on the ASS , as the 400S shown is the later version (earlier versions were still being used by Alpina in 1978 Model year) . Earlier I believe on the recaro literature.

And does anyone know , did Scheel purchase ASS or vice-versa , and when ? (I would guess Scheel bought ASS). As they are obviously owned by the same parent co. Look on the seats in this ASS literature. They all have the Scheel badges , not the ASS. And even on an actual ASS badge. The Scheel shield logo is present (you can also see this in the ASS logo on this brochure / lower left).

    Hello,
the numbers of the 4 Recaro on the left are
13.00.00 Recaro Rallye (both have the same number)
    13.28.00 and 13.25.00
So they are the same as on the Black and white Page.

The Recaro has to be before 74, but my guess is around '70±1.
With the History of ASS, Scheel and Scheelmann I am not yet really good.
Scheel has been in Stuttgart (afaik I think they also moved from Untertürkheim to Ditzingen once) [ <- i'll try to figure that out when I'm home and have some books and magazines], then in the early 70's Scheel moved to Karlsfeld nr. Munic. Address and Phone of ASS is identical to Scheel.
Although I have a 1974 Scheel Catalogue where ASS is not mentioned, there are some 1974 Documents with both companys Scheel Schalensitze Gmbh & Co and ASS Auto-Sport-Spezialsitze so it will probably have been in 1974.
From 1988 Scheel-Mann is north of Stuttgart (Pleidelsheim), and ASS-Autositze is located in Weinheim nr. Heidelberg.

    Thx uai ,

I guess the differance I was speaking of on the 400S type scheels (early / later) is really a model that , from seeing this brochure. Seemingly was discontined (the 400) . And replaced with the 400S

Was the Rallye 13.28.00 ever mounted by the factory? If so, what model car?

I have this seat that was allegedly taken out of a race Porsche in 1975, but I don't know if it was a factory seat or aftermarket.
