    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa was purchased by the current owner six years ago and subsequently refurbished, including a repaint in factory Metallic Green. Power is provided by a numbers-matching, rebuilt 2.4-liter flat-six, which retains CIS fuel injection and is paired with a rebuilt Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes anodized aluminum lower rocker trim, Fuchs wheels, a tan leatherette interior, Coco mats, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Modifications include Fuchs wheels, while items replaced during 2014/2015 refurbishment included the front suspension pan and fuel pump. The fuel distributor, fuel tank, and warm up regulator were also refurbished. This 911 Targa is now offered on the current owner’s behalf with recent service records, a spare set of wheels, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Michigan title.

This car is one of 1,302 911T Targas produced for the US market with CIS injection. Refurbishment work included stripping the body of old paint, repairing rust, and performing a repaint in the original color of Metallic Green (83), which was reportedly special ordered when new. Brightwork is present on the rocker panels, bumpers, wheel arches, and around the glass. A brushed stainless steel targa bar and refurbished removable roof panel are also equipped. The 15″ Fuchs wheels wear Goodyear Eagle GT tires, and the car has been fitted with European-style headlights. The emergency brake was serviced in 2015.

The refurbished tan leatherette interior received new seat covers and tan carpets in 2014. The two-tone black and tan door panels were replaced in 2015 along with other interior trim, and the dashboard, rear side interior panels, rear shelf, steering wheel, and sun visors were refinished in 2017. The black and tan dashboard houses a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and the horn was repaired and a new oil level gauge was installed in 2015. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, 6k of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.

The 2.4-liter flat-six is equipped with CIS fuel injection and was rebuilt in 2015 with a new fuel pump, seals, O-rings, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, a control pressure regulator, a muffler, and rebuilt connecting rods. The rebuilt five-speed manual gearbox received a new ring and pinion, new synchros, and a repaired shift linkage in 2015, and a new clutch was also installed. The results of a May 2018 compression test are included in the gallery below and show between 185-195 psi across all cylinders. Engine stamping *6133569* matches that listed on the included CoA, confirming the engine as original.
