    BaT Description:

This 1969 Porsche 911T is a factory sunroof-equipped car that was reportedly sold new to a member of the DuPont family and received via the European Delivery program. The seller states that he purchased this car from the original owner seven years ago, and subsequently had it restored over a 5-year period. Originally finished in Cocoa Brown, the car was repainted in Signal Orange, and the interior was also refreshed as detailed below. The 2.0L flat-six was rebuilt with S pistons/cylinders and E camshafts, and the 5-speed manual transaxle was also rebuilt with new synchros. Work on the suspension, brakes, and other systems was also completed, and approximately 1k miles have been added over the past seven years. This Porsche is now offered with restoration-related receipts, European Delivery paperwork, a warranty booklet, Blaupunkt radio manuals, a dealer catalog, 2-volume repair manual set, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

During the repaint process the car was reportedly stripped to bare metal, and existing rocker panel rust was cut out and replaced with new metal. The color was changed from Cocoa Brown to Signal Orange, and new rubber body seals were fitted at the same time. The H4 headlights were also refurbished and fitted with new relays.

During the restoration, new Koni shocks and bushings were fitted, while several other suspension components were powder coated. The 14″ Fuchs alloy wheels were fitted with new Pirelli CN36 tires, including the full-sized spare in the front trunk. Brake calipers were rebuilt by PMB Performance in Utah. Two new Interstate batteries have also been installed.

Inside, the cabin received a new headliner, dashboard, door panel map pockets, new carpeting from Autobahn Interiors, and a Scheel sport bucket driver’s seat. The passenger seat was reupholstered, and the original Recaro driver’s seat accompanies the sale. Additional work included rebuilding the pedal assembly and restoring the 4-spoke steering wheel. The odometer indicates 63k miles, approximately 1k of which have been driven by the seller over seven years of ownership.

When the 2.0L flat-six was being rebuilt, the seller had S pistons/cylinders and E camshafts fitted, along with a new Dansk muffler and stainless steel heat exchangers. The engine fan was restored, the Weber carburetors were rebuilt, and a new fuel tank was fitted. The 5-speed manual transaxle was concurrently rebuilt with new synchros. An engine-rebuild sheet is included, along with additional invoices related to the 5-year restoration process.

Documentation, factory manuals, and other materials included in the sale.
