Definitely. A great send off. Another nice photo of the little boy is in post #5 of this thread, as well as the link I posted above.

Great thread
I love all of the vintage pictures, also brings back memories of the late 80s in my 912 80-90mph through the sagebrush in the middle of Nevada. I always had a hard time getting the back of that care loose on pavement but on the gravel road 60 miles from nowhere it was a blast. It ended up not ending well, as we got back near the main road, I was straddling the washboard to minimize the pounding, at about 70 we hit a three inch pipe sticking out to receive a gate on the side of the road. wiped out both tires and rims and had to leave the car out there. We went to a wrecking yard, Impossible to find rims for a Porsche In that part of Nevada. We bought two five lug rims and they took a cutting torch to them to make the bolt pattern work and we were able to get the car back to the house we were staying at. It was still a lot of fun, loved that car until a few years later when I drove it under a BMW oops dumb kid. That part is foreshadowing for a another thread.

Thomas (or anyone),
Anymore detail on this event? It's new to me.
The number plates look like this:
This 906 above looks to be from the same event:
It is the TDF. Or the tour auto as the French say. The, FFSA was only on the map in 69- 70.
I believe the event did not take place from 65-68. Could be wrong though.
