Wow..OK. Thank's Dave. Since those are all US numbers and 0052 is the 1st Targa, Targa is just as likely.
Dave, do you have anything that includes a number near chassis 11830458?

11830458 is a very late chassis, the last is 11830473. I don't have much data there, and I detect an anomaly; it would seem that few were built in the late part of the model year.

    11830466 N US 3281386
This makes it difficult to guess the engine #. However, a phone call to PCNA (COA dept) can get you the #.

Great info. Thanks again Dave and everybody else who's contributed to the list. Apologies for running off topic with chassis numbers.

    Hello dear 911s mates.
I'm close to buy a very nice Ossi blue, preserved and unmolested 1968 2.0S LWB produced in December.
    chassis nr 1193011**
My only big concern regards the engine, that looks very nice and neat, apart from looking it's serial number.
What do you think? Have a look at this pic and help me to understand please...

Any chance this is the car you are considering?

A car with that VIN you mention (69S Coupe) would not have been produced in December 68, by the way. More like April/May 1969

That is a poor photo of the serial #, and the build # would be very important; here are some examples of correct serial #'s:

Thanks Allen, the car is currently exhibited on a show and I had no chance to check the other engine numbers, but I will for sure.
I will check that it shows 901/10, and then the case ones (by the way, what should be the exact code?) if you have any suggestion about where to check it is very welcome...

No Beh, it is not that car. This has black trim inside, very well preserved.
I thought that 2.0s LWB have been produced all within Dec 68, and from 69 VIN numbers changed and went in only 2.2 liters engine.
But you are maybe right, I asked Porsche and they told me that this car has been invoiced by the factory to an Italian dealer June the 6th 1969.

Thank you very much Davep, I was lookig for some of this pictures to compare.
On Monday morning I will phone again Porsche Omologation service and ask if the chassis nr. I have fits with this engine nr. or not.
Then I will check the other engine nr to be sure that is a 901/10.
In any case I don't understand why they should have grind that way the engine nr. It is a really owful job, anbody would turn suspicious obout it
If you have suggestion to were and what to check it will be very welcome
