    Reproduction Nudge Bars

I just placed my order with Bob Chase, owner of Grey Eagle from Bakersfield, CA for my reproduction nudge bar. He was offering them for $350 till the end of March to S registry members only. The bar will come with mounting hardware and if you need the rubber grommets on the end of the bar, they are $6 each. I did not inquire about the shorter bumper pads since these are the same size as the front and I have an extra pair.

I can not vouch for the quality yet, but I did make sure that the measurements matched the LWB as this was a concern on the another post. The measurements I got were between 31-1/4" and 31-5/16" (31.282" to be more precise).

He does take paypal if it matters. No affiliation, I just thought I would pass the information to the rest of the group.

I saw one of these at the Lit show, I also installed a real one on a customer car 1 year ago. The repro looked right on with the shape. I hate to knock anyone, my first impressions were its was a real bar that had been poorly re chromed. The shape is nice but the chrome work was lacking, I am often a perfectionist. Considering people want the world for an authentic bar I think the repro is a good buy. It is such a simple piece, not hard to make but hard to shape right.

Here is a car with an authentic nudge bar, we only paid $300 for that bar with good chrome, ahh the good old days:

Can you still get the "shorter" rubber bumper that allows for the installation of this bar to the existing metal bumbers?

I have an original bar that is bent due to an accident. Does anyone know of a place that can straighten the bar? The chrome is still perfect and I would love to try and save it.

Use the rubber buffer from a front bumper.

Does anyone know of another source for reproduction bars, or is Bob Chase the only one? I've been trying to get one from him, but communicating is hit or miss.

George is/was waiting to get a good measurement number for his production to continue. His current batch that he is making now will be 31 3/8" bolt center to bolt center. This is what my LWB car measured and he said it would be a couple of weeks for the brazing and plating. He also gave me some pictures of his 912 with one and some other views. You can check your measurement with this by removing the bumberettes and taking the rubber off and reinstalling them. Then measure the top hole center of hole to center of hole.
