    Carpets? Floor Mats?

Cocomats are merely carpet protectors. They go over the existing carpet and have a non slip rubber on the bottom. I have them on both my 356 and 911. They now even have the 3rd front piece for the 911. I just simply pull them out shake them off and replace them when the get dirty. Check them out at Cocomats.com

I know a lot of people like Cocomats, I don't care for them.

    It has been my
experience that it is really important to vacuum the carpet after pulling the Cocomats. It is all the fine dirt that grinds down and wears out the factory carpeting.

Mats (removable) cover and protect the carpet (semi-
    permanent)

Thanks for the input. I learned that mats go over the carpets, which I thought were mats. Finding new reasonably priced carpets for the 911 is not going to be an easy task. The simplest things on the S turn into projects. I think I will wait until Parade and peek into every Porsche I see looking at carpets and/or mats.

These are on a bare floor. I've had no problems. They work really well.

Hi Candyce, the closest I have found to original matching material and pattern is at Lakewell (Belgium): http://www.lakewell.com/en/porsche/9...sche-911-69-73

Thanks for the information guys. I have ordered carpet samples from every company I came across. I hope I can find something that works. The photos show the carpets. The driver's side is worn. The passenger side is just fine. The carpets do need to be put away and preserved. I am even looking at plain, black, rubber mats. Hopefully, this will get done over the summer.

Please start a new tread, it would be more informative to the readers, with a heading on what your asking. Good discussion, it just needs to find its own tread not buried in over 56 pages of discussion....plus it will allow newer members to weigh in......

Thank you, Bill! I know exactly what you are talking about. There are many times when I can't find something on the thread that I wrote.

When 1973 Sepia 911S began in August 2011, I didn't know how threads worked. Lurking was my first choice. Cautiously questions were posted and the story was told. Keeping things straight was a huge problem ... especially when the words are not part of your vocabulary. The thread was created as a way for me to keep things organized ... everything in one place. Now, it chronicles my life with the 911 ... my dreams, my questions, and my comments. Much to my dismay, the members of the Registry have embraced this journey with the S and are so encouraging and willing to help me. Thank you!

But, I digress. Is there a better way to organize a thread? As I searched for information on carpets/mats, pages of posts would pop up. It was daunting to look at the list. The big question: How do you keep the continuity of a thread intact and also enable people to search for specific information? Did I flunk "Searching Posts 101"?

Suggestions, and comments would be appreciated.

After learning so much, I still have much to learn,

I think it would help future searches to include a specific topic in the title line of each new question or subject... In the same way you have written "I can't find things either"... That way you can still post in your original thread to keep the continuity and integrity of your narrative...

    Candyce,
I just created this link for you. I would bookmark it/save it as a favorite
    https://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=site...22type+here%22

When you click on the link, just remove the "type here" and put whatever search terms you are looking for in your thread.

Oh, and I vote for asking questions in this thread using the heading feature, just like you did above in the "I Can't Find Things Either". It beats starting a new thread to ask a question about your car.
