Lovely job, are you sure the 72's had black in the wheel wells? I thought they were like the 73's body color.

Absolutely sure. Maybe a very late one might have had the engine compartment body color but not the wheel wells. This car and the other 72S car I tore down myself had black in the wheel wells and engine compartment. They are both original paint. It's pretty well documented. Also the floors were painted black over the body color on both of them.

do you have better picture of the muffler and exhaust tip, I am redoing my muffler setup and want exactly the same thing. Thanks!

Sorry, for the delay. The muffler is a Dansk and the tip is from Eric Linden. www.autoforeignservices.com The Dansk muffler is now replaced by an original Leistritz muffler.

So, I drove down to California with my trailer to pick up the car from Best of Show and take it to Tony for the headliner and A & B pillers to get wrapped. Thanks to John (the old man) the paint is just perfect. I had Tony and his guys also install the dash and windows. They are just the best you can find and great guys as well. The front window came from Stoddard and the rear window with defrost is from Porsche Germany.

Car is now back home safe next to the fireplace. I should be working on other things but I just couldn't stand it. I had to get it's badge back on after so many years away. I left it just as it came off the car patina and all. I also put the rear lettering on the Aluminum deck lid. This took quite a bit of time as you can't rush a job like this. You can only push so hard on an aluminum lid.
