Mike, thanks for cleaning up that picture. That just has to be my car. Now, the picture shows the paint the way it should be.
Joe, the Beavers suck this year. The Pac 12 will soon be the Pac 16. It's only going to get harder for them.

Car is off the dolly and on the lift. I should have bought a lift like this many years ago! What a difference working on the car with this lift. My back is happy.

I installed the engine bay decals I bought from Alan. They are a great product.

More hardware came in from Porsche. I installed new rubber bushings from Elephant Racing. New factory ball joints and hardware. New factory camber plates and the original restored Koni's are back on. The original brakes were restored by Eric (PMB). He has really mastered the restoring but not over restoring process. He said this pair of calipers are the earliest he's seen with the original gold/green finish. New dust caps and bearings in the restored hubs. The sway bar, drop links, brackets and the hardware is not original to the car. It's a complete NOS kit that I bought on Ebay 4 years ago. I got lucky on that one. The camera flash makes it all look way to bright. It looks way less bling in person.

Just going back over this great thread I noticed this about the black underside, I thought black in the engine bay and under the hood was on earlier
car's but not on the 72 year model. I've done mine the same as a personal thing but always thought it was wrong.

Researching this myself, it seems 69 was last year for luggage compartment painted black from the factory.

Also, I think I read somewhere in a thread on this site that 73 was the first year that the engine compartment was body colored, so a 72 with black in the engine bay is 'correct'.

Check out this thread (to Ed's point below):

Note that Scott's car is silver under the hood, not black. The paint there was applied per the factory, with an intentionally less than glossy finish to match the original less than perfect application. Scott's a detail guy, for sure!
