    Original 911 Ad

They next time I read an ad that starts out "All Original Early 911 For Sale" and the first line of the ad says "repainted in 1986 with recently upholstered seats" I am going to puke.

Get this people, "Original" means the car has not been repainted (especially in another "period" color-double puke), ie-has the same paint as when it was delivered and the same trim, interior, etc. Having a numbers matching car is just assumed.

If your car doesn't have those characteristics, then it is not original. I will even settle for "mostly original" if the hood and front fenders have been repainted, but please no more "original" cars that aren't.

Now back to your "originally" scheduled programming...

My absolute favorite is "non sunroof" in the title. Now, I think people do this so that when someone searches for a sunroof car, the seller's car comes up even though it doesn't have a sunroof....and it is so nice the prospective buyer buys it even though he was looking for a car with a sunroof. Or maybe the seller thinks you'll buy his car by mistake, thinking it has a sunroof!

And, of course, if your a seller and your car does happen to have a sunroof, no doubt you'll mention that in your ad, several times no doubt!

BTW, if you are looking for an early 911 even up to some early short hood cars, you are going to be looking a lot; less than 10% of early cars had sunroofs. Thanks.

    Hey Cole,

I have an all original 1953 VW Zwitter 4-sale.

It has had a chassis change to a 70's pan with IRS suspension. It was green but now it is Blue. It has a duel port engine but a early 25 hp engine is included in the deal. The interior is from a 52' but has really cool SCAT Baja seats in it now. I do know where the original seats are though.....firm at BO (best offer)!.....)*7-(&4>#@@*())&?

Its not just the Porsche dudes with the "OG" thing, but thanks for calling em out with the reference to the term "OG" (original)!!

Disclaimer: I don't really have an OG Zwitter for sale.

Hey Kevin, what's your asking price?

That's my pet peeve; people who don't read the ads in the first place and ask questions which have already been clearly addressed. <end rant>

    Kevin,

    where's your car located?

my big pet peeve more than guys who don't read the ads, is when the seller doesn't tell you where the car is located.

I think the non sunroof inference is for the purist that believe a sunroof takes from the overall performance of a early 911.

Maybe so (I doubt there are that many "purist" selling these "non sunroof cars") but very little need to call that out as most all of these early cars do not have a sunroof. Thanks.

    Hey ubmiked and Lewis,

I can't remember where the little Bugger is but I am firm at my BO price.....Hey what does BO really mean...I just wrote that because I see everybody writing that after what they really want!!!!!

(OK for those who haven't read all the post, I do know that BO stands for, "body Oder.... right.....do you hear that Frank Beck....or was that your underwear??)

P.S. does "Stock" mean I can install an original carburetor-ed 3.0 L engine in my OG 67'S to keep it stock?
