Strange front hub part # (901.341.605.2R)

    Hello all,

Some years ago I bought a pair of NOS front hubs, forgot about them and finally dug them up tonight.
They seem to be identical to part # 901.341.065.02 (40 mm thickness) in this thread:
    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-vs-later.html

They appear to be forged, but the part # is puzzling me

Are you talking about the forging number not being the same as the part number?

Ok, I thought that the other one was forging # (AK1.41 "Fuchs fox head logo" 25571 3).
But if 901.341.605.2R is forging #, can somebody confirm the correct part #, please.

These 40 mm ones are incorrect for my Ž73 T and IŽd like to trade/swap them to a NOS pair of forged 47 mm hubs.
    Long shot maybe..?

Whoa. That's pretty slick...the one of the left has a funny look to it, too.

You guys don't get out much...
One on the right is an early 928 hub if I'm not mistaken.

If a 928 is involved, I don't want to get out much...

I've got these same XXX..605.2R hubs. Did anybody ever determine their original application?

Somebody is going to have to dig into the front axle's track width spec's for the early cars 1965 thru 1968 to find the front that is 7mm wider than a previous one and cross check to the parts books and if it is a non-vented rotor then cross check to the changes to stock wheels. Some where in there - That should be that 40mm hub depth.

(Don't tell anyone - but those "stock" hubs were a rule bending racing ploy to fit fatter rims inside stock fenders - calipers needed to be inset to a corresponding plane too)...

So likely some sort of a "hot hub" for the '65 to '68 cars?
