Thread: 1967 911 S from Venezuela - My first 911/Restoration

  1. #31
    Dear Fernando,

    greetings from Tuscany Italy,

i search photos on Porsches in Venezuela, because a friend of mine is (he is 90 years old) raced porsche 356 carrera gt coupe' in Venezuela until 1963, his name is Pilade ' Nino ' Ronchieri. He owned a 1958 porsche 356 carrera gs-gt coupe
raced by Baron Von Hanstein, sold then to Mr Guido Borrero and then a 59 carrera gs-gt coupe that won at 1959 12 hour race of Sebring. He, my friend, bought the 1959 carrera coupe from Dr Quintana and kept it until he came back to Italy
in may 1963. Can you find for me photos of this porsche (i went in the passion y velocidad web but i search other photos)
and i search copies of motor de Venezuela magazines.
There is a photo archive in Caracas that once named racing photo but the actual owner, mr Estrada did not want to see or sell any photo.

    Sincerely

    giorgio s ballotta

    email address chiccona_68@libero.it

Your 911 s is great!! Even i prefer not restored cars.

Great story. Congratulations. You have a great car, and at your age, I (like many here I'd guess) had a rusty 67 VW I shared with my brother. Being here with this group will be very helpful for you, AND being in California will help you source parts.

Thanks for sharing your story, Fernando!

If you make the move to Atlanta, look me up.

And keep the posts coming on your car. You are a very fortunate young man
