If so, it is interesting to note that no engine top side photos are shown, no mention is made of MFI, and the heat exchanger on the left side is not correct for MFI. I wonder if it has carbs now?

And while they make note of only original Bosch lenses and such, a '70 should have H1 lights, not H4. Not 100% sold on the attention to detail on this car.

Edit - I found one of their old eBay posts for this car that has a picture of the engine compartment, while the picture is a bit on the small side, it does appear to show that the car does have MFI.

    FS: @Goodings Amelia Island - '69 911E Coupe

This car has been around the block a few times. First as a worn out 'barn find' and then as an over-restored example selling for US$137,500 at the 2014 Gooding Amelia Island Auction. Originally equipped with a Sportomatic transmission, Frank Beck observed; "Moonshine. Finding out your date used to be the opposite sex is always disappointing."

    Auction Description:

    - First Year of the Desirable and Dynamic 911 E
    - Subject of a Photo-Documented Restoration Completed in 2010
    - Beautifully Presented and a Concours Award Winner
    - Ideally Optioned Example Including Factory Air-Conditioning
    - Matching-Numbers Engine per COA

In early 2007, this car’s known history began with its discovery in long-term storage by a San Francisco-based enthusiast. Believed to have been sitting without operation for 20 years, the 911 was acquired by Pino Angiulli of Milano Auto Repair in Clifton, New Jersey. Known in the local Porsche community for his meticulous work, Mr. Angiulli conducted a thorough restoration. The engine, transaxle, suspension, and brakes were rebuilt, the Cork leatherette interior was reupholstered, and the body was bare-metal blasted and repainted. A set of photographs that accompanies the sale documents Mr. Angiulli’s detailed process.

In May 2010, this 911 E reportedly garnered a First Place at a New Jersey PCA Concours and was awarded a score of 391 of a possible 400 points at the 2013 Brumos Porsche Gathering.

Notable factory-appointed options include a roll bar, air-conditioning, and special-order White (Light) Gray paint, and the 911 E was serviced at Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2014. In an ideal specification and accompanied by tools, restoration photos, and manuals, the car remains an exceptional example of Porsche’s much-admired 911 E.

At the bottom of the Hinting Ridge advert it does state "THIS CAR WILL BE SOLD AT “THE FINEST” AUTOMOBILE AUCTION IN BOCA RATON ON 02/11/2017".

It also shows this as the front slam panel, which wouldn't be original, correct? Reason I mention... The Boca auction states "This 911E has remarkably remained totally rust-free, retaining to this day every original panel"

    Auction Description:

This 1969 Porsche 911E Targa is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six and 5-speed 915 manual gearbox from a later 911. Originally delivered through France’s Sonauto Porsche affiliate, the car was brought to the Portland, Oregon area in mid 1969. The engine swap was performed several years ago and the car was exported to the UK last year. The seller has driven it several hundred miles and is able to facilitate exporting the car back to the US should the new owner desire. This modified 911 is located in Lisbon, Portugal and is sold with a Porsche CoA and a UK V5C registration.

The car was restored at an unknown date but is still finished in the correct Ossi Blue. It retains a stock appearance, and there is little indication that it now has nearly double the stock power. Wheels are 14″ Fuchs. 911 Targas were first built in 1968, with glass windows as optional. In 1969, the wheelbase was increased by 2.2 inches for better weight distribution and greater handling stability. Overall length was unchanged as rear trailing arms were lengthened to move the wheels back. 911E-spec seats, steering wheel, gauges, and radio remain in place. Upholstery shows quite well in the provided photos, and the carpets are intact apart from a small unglued section on the tunnel forward of the shifter. The 60k indicated miles are not believed accurate.
The 2.0-liter engine has been replaced by a later 3.2-liter flat-six from a 1985 911. Induction is by 46mm Weber carburetors, and a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox was also added. The suspension and brakes are standard apart from larger anti-roll bars front and rear. The engine stamping from the replacement engine can be seen in the gallery. Heat exchangers with the car retains a single outlet exhaust.

The Porsche CoA shows the car was originally optioned with a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio and ski rack. A partial tool roll is included. The documentation shows a May 1969 delivery date to Portland, Oregon. An original maintenance booklet is stamped by Porsche dealers in the Portland area, and the car later moved to California before returning to Europe.

    Cool

You can't have a 3.2 engine and then claim the the car was restored.

Restoration: A restoration is an attempt to return the car to some previous state.

This is more of a mild hot rod. It's also a very nice one. It's just not a restoration.

I do love that this car has non-original miles on it.

    BaT Description:

This 1970 Porsche 911E sunroof coupe is a driver that has been with the seller for 12 years and is powered by an MFI-equipped 2.2L flat-six paired with a 901 5-speed manual gearbox. Imported from Germany in 1982 by the previous owner, the car was purchased through Otto’s Venice in 2005. The engine has been fitted with pressure-fed tensioners and is believed to have been rebuilt prior to purchase by the seller, who has driven this example 50k miles during his ownership. The car was serviced in June 2016 with a valve adjustment and oil change. It is sold with a clean California title in the seller’s name. Originally tangerine, the car was repainted blue and some point before being refinished in its current black. An area of orange peel is noted by the seller along the right rear wheel arch, and a few dents and scuffs are shown in the gallery below. The 911E self-adjusting front struts were replaced with torsion bars prior to the seller’s purchase, and date-matched 15″ Fuchs wear a set of tires from 2006.

Bodywork performed by the seller during his ownership is said to be limited to a plate welded in over the front control arm bolts as shown in the gallery below. Upgrades include H4 100 headlights with relays, a front steel ‘S’ spoiler, Durant-look side mirror, and a pair of reproduction driving lights that are presently inoperable. A set of Cerullo sport seats and aftermarket seat belts were fitted prior to the seller’s purchase, with other interior modifications consisting of aftermarket speakers fitted to the door cards. The 901 5-speed gearbox is said to grind when shifted too quickly and causes the car to shudder in reverse. All interior electrics and instrumentation remain in working order according to the seller. The odometer shows 98k miles and is believed to have rolled.

The mechanically-injected 2.2L flat-six is believed original, and the stamping can be seen in the gallery below. The engine was reportedly rebuilt by Otto’s Venice prior to the seller’s purchase 12 years ago and is said to be a strong runner aside from the occasional leaking and a 1200 rpm idle when warmed up. Pressure-fed tensioners were added by the seller shortly after his purchase, and the most recent service in June 2016 included a valve adjustment and oil change. Corrosion is noted in the driver-side of the battery box and gas tank longitudinal.

    BaT Description:

This 1971 Porsche 911E Targa has been cosmetically and mechanically refurbished during the seller’s six years of ownership. Powered by its numbers-matching 2.2-liter flat-six paired to a non-original 5-speed gearbox, the car has benefited from a full repaint in Irish Green, new rubber seals throughout, a refurbished targa top, reupholstered seats with houndstooth inserts, and new carpet. An engine-out service was recently performed and included a re-seal of the engine, and the brake system has been refreshed with rebuilt calipers, a new master cylinder, and new rotors. The seller has driven the car approximately 5k miles and is now offering it with the original owner’s manual, a Porsche CoA, and a clean California title. The seller states that the car resided in New Mexico before being relocated to North Carolina for approximately 10 years. The car was moved to the seller’s shop in California a few years ago with a worn finish in an emerald green color. A bare metal repaint was then commissioned in the original Irish Green (1510).

The original floors remain, and the seller indicates that the body gaps are uniform. All glass was removed during the repaint and new rubber seals have been installed throughout. he interior features reupholstered seats with hounds tooth inserts, new carpet, and fresh trim. Driver and passenger door pockets have been rebuilt, and the folding Targa top has been professionally refurbished. The odometer shows 45k miles, though true mileage is unknown.

he original 2.2-liter flat-six retains its mechanical fuel injection system, while a recent engine-out service included a valve-adjustment, replacement of any accessible gaskets or seals, and oil change. The 901 5-speed manual transmission is of the correct type for the car but is not original. The engine number stamping reads #6218107 and is confirmed to be original by the Porsche CoA. The suspension was disassembled, powder coated, and fitted with new bushings throughout during the refurbishment. New wheel bearings have also been installed in the rear trailing arms, and the brake system benefits from rebuilt calipers, a new master cylinder, and new rotors. New shocks have been installed all around, and two new Interstate U911 batteries were fitted in the front trunk. The Porsche CoA can be seen above and confirms the colors as well as factory front and rear stabilizers. The original owners manual and a spare tire are also included.
