Our friend Bill Noon is offering up this 73 RS. I'm lucky that my office is 10 minutes away from Symbolic; I'm overdue for a lunch time visit:

This is a particularly early example completed just before production became fully standardized. Work on her construction beginning in the last week of September 1972 finishing in November of 1972 with a delivery shortly thereafter to a favored local German client who took delivery directly from the Factory with registration issued upon delivery.

It is sequentially the 56th example (911 360 0056) but due to early request, homologation requirements, delivery and production issues was apparently the 24th example finished and sold new. It remained with a single owner in Germany until 1977 when Porsche Japan imported the car on behalf of the gentleman we purchased her from. It is as such a two-owner from new, all matching number example without rust or accident damage. Total mileage is 104,000 kilometers or approximately 64,000 miles from new.

The Porsche Factory Records provide few additional details other than that the limited slip differential failed while the car was still under warranty. Today, other than the color change of the wheels and graphics from green to blue and the fitting of an aftermarket air conditioning system, it is one, if not the most remarkably original and correct examples we have ever encountered.

All date coded items on the entire vehicle are October of 1972 with the exception of the space-saver spare tire which is dated coded February of 1973. The vehicle is without any sign of rust or accident damage of any type. All body panels fit, seems and gaps are faultless, uniform and a clear indication the car has never been damaged or disassembled. The sheet metal is extraordinarily thin and the car has no under seal or extra insulation as seen on the later RS 2.7 models. The floor pans and all suspension components retain their original single coat of light black under spray.

All "RS" specific early series one components are intact and original. These include the alloy suspension components, first-version, no-reinforcement rear fiberglass "duck-tail" spoiler deck-lid, three-pin CDI ignition system etc...

This is an incredibly original and correct, un-mollested early-production RS 2.7. All interested buyers are strongly encouraged to contact to arrange for inspections and test-drives at their soonest convenience.
