One thing that helps match the sheens when finished is to wipe the new (and old) vinyl with 303 Protectant.

It would have been nice with a confirmation that this material is produced by MAH. Does anyone know??

Does someone have the contact info for MAH...? Or US supplier of this material.
Thanks

Question/opinion: I have a car with very nice original door panels other than two small screw holes from a surface mounted tweeter. Would it be better to have a specialist "fix" the holes or better to just replace the entire panel w new? Being black the holes are barely noticeable but of course the anal side of me wants to make things better so opinions please. Thx

Mark- some vinyl repairs are quite remarkable. I have seen some where you really couldn't tell, truly excellent repair. But there are also some repairs that are horrible.
The grain is transferred from your existing so that is good news.
If all goes well the only issue will be sun baking the repair and surrounding area. Only time will tell long-term.
I would look for and search out a highly recommended service.
Being small holes you may luck out. I'd try it.

If the holes are barely noticeable I would leave it original.
Now if the car is fully restored and everything has been redone or replaced by top quality parts and materials that command a different answer. Depends on the car for me.

Just thought I'd throw these picture up. The rightmost vinyl is an un-restored '67 dashboard. The middle is the back portion of a dashboard that I just purchased from Asse and the leftmost is the best original '67 knee pad I could find. Checked with Asse before ordering and they said they were only selling these parts as covered in German vinyl. Looks pretty spot on to me. Thank you Asse.
