    69 911T COA Question

    Hi Everyone,

I finally got around to ordering the COA for a 1969 911T. Everything appears to be good, but I am uncertain about the trans number. The car has a 4 speed in it, and was in the vehicle when we purchased it in 2008. The number on the trans in the car does not match the COA, but it is off by a mere 100 digits give or take. Can anyone help shed some light on what could have happened, besides the obvious that the original owner replaced the trans?

    Thanks in advance!

    Andrew

If it is exactly 100 digits, meaning 1 digit is wrong in the overall number, then I would guess it's a transcribe error on PCNA's end or maybe in the original Kardex.

The chance that someone swapped the transmission to another one exactly 100 digits off is remote, but, sure it may have happened.

Many people have contacted Porsche and had CofAs corrected. You ought to call them and ask them to confirm the transmission number.

You might also refer to the registry database 2015 Car Listing_Roster C.pdf and contact the owners of cars with VINs near yours and ask what their transaxle numbers are. You can get an idea whether the transaxle number in your car of the transaxle number in your CofA fits the sequence best.

Thanks for the tip Neunelf. I'll have to try that and see where it goes.

Sorry, probably should have included pictures to begin with. The car is in for a refresh at a local shop here in Orange County, and so close to being done it is killing me!!
