Question Is a sunroof mentioned on the Kardex / CoA?

For a 1969 S Coupe I received the matching numbers from the current owner.

A such I just contacted Porsche AG and requested the confirmation of the matching numbers, which I received.

They also provided (like on a CoA) the options, color codes etc...

As I didn't find any reference to a sunroof, I asked them to double check it. No reference was found.

Hence my question: is a sunroof mentioned somewhere on the Kardex? Was it the case for your sunroof coupe?

    Thanks!

    Erwin

Yes, Its usually noted on the -german written only- Kardex (El. Schiebedach, Schiebedach etc.).
I recall seeing it mentioned also on CoA's.
For Swiss Market delivery cars, the AMAG Wagenkarte does mentioned it too.

The factory is usually not allowed to furnish the original Kardex to you, due to privacy issues.
They only give you a CoA or can confirm its matching.
However private sources (not me) can provide it to you if you pay them.

BTW There are a few records of aftermarket/homemade sunroofs. Do a search.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

Sunroof is listed on my '70 T COA.

Here's the COA for a '67 S that shows sunroof under optional equipment. See post #3

    Kardexes and Option Codes

    Another thread --- on Kardexes . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...st-Your-Kardex!!!

And here 're some on option codes . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...%2C+71%2C+911T
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...t=dealer+codes

IMO --- CoAs are 'interesting,' at best . . . . and, at worst --- a waste of money

    Sure-sure --- the 'big stuff' is there . . . VIN, engine number, color, usw . . .

. . . but, remember --- a CoA is a more of a 'transcript' than anything --- an interpretation of a Faktory record

If you can, make an effort to contact the Porsche Museum, and specifically someone in the Archives, and try to get a list of 'option codes' for your car. These can be decoded and saves having to put up with someone else's 'interpretation' of what's what like when you get a Certificate of Authenticity

IMO --- the ideal is to get a copy of the Kardex . . . which seem to be available for cars built up to '69. Trust me . . . the really-worthwhile/interesting stuff tends to be kinda hard-to-decipher --- or scribbled-down somewhere, anyway
