It's not just what is missing but also which tools are incorrect.

Missing: screwdriver, boxed wrench, fuse kit

    Incorrect: spark plug wrench?

    Just my $.02

There should be 5 drop forged wrenches. Did 68 have the Messko?

If you can, take a close up of the tool bag itself... curious as it looks new, or else in incredibly good shape

Is your 68 a "Normal"? I was under the impression that 68's had elephant hide tool kits. Both my 68S and my 68L have elephant hide tool kits to match the interior.
Did the normals and 912s have smooth and the S and L have Elephant hide?
