I recently got a Porsche Sales Bulletin (B -4, September 22, 1972) and it reads:
Porsche for 1973
9.
"Internal door reinforcement beams for greater protection."
(As of January '73 Production)
Did they come with them ?

yes, if you take your door card off , you will see a reinforcement beam on the inside of the door skin

It's a good safety feature but unfortunately also adds weight.
I bet it's less than 5 pounds per side, just stamped steel.
Yup, they are in my Feb built 1973S. I prefer to think they add some rigidity to the body, rather than weight ;)
Was this change made on all cars or U.S. only?

The attached photo shows the later, '84 Carrera doors with the "side anti-intrusion beams" ( visible in the top opening) I purchased from EASY to replace the slightly rusted (along the bottom) stock doors on my '70 911T Coupe.Quote:
